what is lvp flooring

LVP is also called Luxury Vinyl Plank. It is an alternative to hardwood flooring. All vinyl flooring designed with wood planks can be called LVP, vinyl is a more durable material. This type of flooring snaps and/or clicks together and floats directly above and below the subfloor. You may occasionally hear people use the term "LVT," which stands for Luxury Vinyl Tile. LVT includes all vinyl flooring products that mimic the texture of tile or stone.

Advantages of LVP Flooring

Scratch and Wear Resistant

LVP flooring is highly scratch-resistant and has a wear-resistant protective layer that protects against stains, scuffs, dents and other forms of daily wear and tear. Especially in rooms with pets and children at home, you can use it with confidence.

Moisture Resistance

Luxury vinyl plank flooring have a waterproof backing that prevents liquids from penetrating the surface and a wear layer that also acts as a protective layer. There are two types of LVP: waterproof and waterproof. Both can withstand high levels of humidity without the risk of warping, staining, or other damage. This makes LVP ideal for bathrooms, closets, laundry rooms, hallways, and hallways.

Durable

Thanks to its UV wear layer and solid core construction, LVP is extremely durable and comes with a series of warranties for both residential and commercial use. You can choose from a variety of thicknesses, wear layers, and applied underlays, while standard manufacturer warranties range from 20 to 30 years. This means hassle-free troublesome maintenance throughout the life of your house or apartment.

Easy to Maintain

LVP flooring is great for people who take the time to maintain their floors. Once installed, it's worry-free. You'll never need to wax, polish, polish or seal it, and most spills and cleanups can be easily handled with a damp mop, which removes dirt, hair, and other debris with ease. It requires no special products other than a regular daily floor cleaner.

Quiet and Cozy

LVP flooring has a certain sound insulation effect. With its layered construction and attached underlayer; LVP absorbs the impact of footsteps, reducing footsteps and overall noise. LVP is made from a variety of materials, giving it a warmer, softer feel than traditional waterproof materials such as tiles.

Anti-Scratch

Complaints about pet accidents at LVP are a thing of the past. Simple cleaners and disinfectants won't damage your floors and allow your pet to glide from place to place without falling into a kennel or climbing a tree. By installing LVP, you can prevent damage that pet waste can cause to your floors, including carpet, wood, and laminate flooring.

What are the differences between LVT and LVP?

Hardwood floorings are not the only building material that can be created and recreated from vinyl planks. Luxury vinyl tile (LVT) is another popular flooring material that can be manufactured and replicated using the process described above.
The main difference between LVP and LVT is the type of material each is trying to reproduce. LVT is designed and manufactured to mimic natural stone or tile floors. Similar to LVP hardwood floors, LVT floors may be manufactured with a texture and appearance that is as close to the real thing as possible.
Instead of overlaying high-resolution images of hardwoods, LVT digitally processes images of stones, rocks, and other natural elements and applies them to his nearly completed LVT tiles.
